چکیده

Abstract Bioinspired Multi-Metal Structures (MMSs) combine distinct properties of multiple materials, benefiting from improved and providing superior designs. Additive Manufacturing (AM) exhibits enormous advantages in applying different materials geometries according to the desired functions at specific locations structure, having great potential fabricating multi-materials structures. However, current AM techniques have difficulty manufacturing 3D MMSs without material cross-contamination flexibly reliably. This study demonstrates a reliable, fast, flexible direct ink writing method fabricate MMSs. The in-situ material-switching system enables deposition metallic across layers within same layer. Fe–Cu with complex fine details are fabricated as proof concept. microstructures, chemical phase compositions, tensile fracture surfaces interfaces indicate well-bonded interface cracks, delamination, or cross-contamination. We envision this novel making other combinations even metal-ceramic components. It paves way for using establishes possibilities numerous applications engineering fields.

Direct Ink Writing of Three-Dimensional Ceramic Structures

The ability to pattern ceramic materials in three dimensions (3D) is critical for structural, functional, and biomedical applications. One facile approach is direct ink writing (DIW), in which 3D structures are built layer-by-layer through the deposition of colloidalor polymer-based inks. This approach allows one to design and rapidly fabricate ceramic materials in complex 3D shapes without the...

Gigahertz Electromagnetic Structures via Direct Ink Writing for Radio-Frequency Oscillator and Transmitter Applications.

Radio-frequency (RF) electronics, which combine passive electromagnetic devices and active transistors to generate and process gigahertz (GHz) signals, provide a critical basis of ever-pervasive wireless networks. While transistors are best realized by top-down fabrication, relatively larger electromagnetic passives are within the reach of printing techniques. Here, direct writing of viscoelast...

Direct Writing of Flexible Electronics through Room Temperature Liquid Metal Ink

BACKGROUND Conventional approaches of making a flexible circuit are generally complex, environment unfriendly, time and energy consuming, and thus expensive. Here, we describe for the first time the method of using high-performance GaIn(10)-based electrical ink, a significantly neglected room temperature liquid metal, as both electrical conductors and interconnects, for directly writing flexibl...

Laser-assisted direct ink writing of planar and 3D metal architectures.

The ability to pattern planar and freestanding 3D metallic architectures at the microscale would enable myriad applications, including flexible electronics, displays, sensors, and electrically small antennas. A 3D printing method is introduced that combines direct ink writing with a focused laser that locally anneals printed metallic features "on-the-fly." To optimize the nozzle-to-laser separa...
